The First Day of School is Nearing

Hi Families,

The beginning of 5th grade is just around the corner!  I imagine your child is becoming excited trying on their new uniform clothing, getting school supplies and looking forward to seeing friends from class!

Just as a note to you, we begin our school year reading the abridged version of Little Women.  For fun, feel free to check out a copy from your local library and read it as a family as a nice kick off to the year.  It is a great read!

Below are some dates to be thinking about for the month of September:
  • Tuesday, September 3rd- You may drop off your students supplies before the first day of school, in our classroom, between 1pm and 3pm.
  • Thursday, September 5th-Back to School Night from 6:30pm-7:30pm.
More September dates coming soon....

Also, if you are looking for interesting events in the month of September that connect to what we will be learning in 5th grade, check out the following:

  • September 14th-15th-Renaissance Faire in King's Valley, Oregon  http://shrewfaire.com/
  • September 21st-Civil War Reenactment at Milo McIver Park in Estacada.  (We will begin our Civil War unit the following Monday)
